Oh, most definitely. Reagan’s response to the AIDS epidemic was awful. It’s really amazing to see the distance between Reagan’s stance on AIDS (and let’s not forget, one of Reagan’s friends, Rock Hudson, was one of the first major celebrity deaths from AIDS) and the stance of another ultra-Conservative President, George W. Bush, who probably did more to fight AIDS — particularly in sub-Saharan Africa — than any other American President.
