That doesn’t make much sense to me. First of all, Bush already had a Vice President. Secondly, Bush and Gore had absolutely nothing in common other than the fact that their names were on the same ballot on the same day in November 2000. Plus, we’re not even touching on the fact that they were diametrically opposed to one another politically, didn’t really like each other personally, and Gore had just spent eight years as Vice President and sure as hell wouldn’t want to continue in the job, especially under someone who he defeated in the popular vote for the Presidency.
Now, with that said, I do think that President-elect Matthew Santos should have offered Arnie Vinick the Vice Presidency after Leo McGarry died on Election Night.
